Cars are the love of my life. Between buying a house and buying a car, I’ll go for a car anytime! But of course, who doesn't want to own the 5Cs??

Here are some images of cars that really make me drool...Mitsubishi's Evolution series, and Proton which produces cars that are popular among boy-racers on a budget in its homeland, Malaysia.

So go ahead...DROOL!!

The first performance sedan produced by Mitsubishi. This is the Mitsubishi Lancer GSR, or also known as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 1. This first Evolution comes in a 1.8L engine.

Following the success of the first Mitsubishi Lancer GSR, Mitsubishi decided to produce another performance sedan. This one here is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2. Stock turbo engine can produce up to 260bhp!

And after the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2, Mitsubishi later on produces the Lancer Evolution 3, which has a refined turbo engine, and upgraded suspension. Looks like yellow goes well with the car!

This here is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4, which has a totally different body shell from its 3 predecessors. This particular new model is so popular among loyal Mitsubishi Evolution lovers. Comes with re-tuned suspension and improved turbo engine.

Towards the end of 1997, Mitsubishi produced another successor: the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 5. Comes with the same body shell as the Lancer Evolution 4, but with added cosmetic make-ups. Flared arches on all 4 corners of the wheel, bigger boot spoiler and stock 17" OZ rims.

Just when the motoring industry thought that the Evolution 5 is the ultimate performance sedan in Mitsubishi's stable, along came the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6. Tweaked engine produces 270bhp. Other changes includes bigger inter-cooler, re-positioned foglamps for the front, taller rear boot spoiler and OZ Superturismo rims.

Following the success of the Mitsubishi team in the World Rally Championship, Mitsubishi Motors decided to produce limited Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 Tommi Makkinen Edition. And it is also known as the Lancer Evolution 6.5. Difference from the Evolution 6 includes a new front bumper assembly and new durable Enkei rims.

After years and 2 Evolution series later, engineers from Mitsubishi's R&D Department decided to come with a new Evolution, based on a new platform, and give it a new bodyshell. The result? The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7! It was given a total interior and exterior change, and looks more aggressive. And the engine was tweaked to produce 276bhp! It instantly became every boy racer’s dream mobile.

A few months after the launch of the Lancer Evolution 7, Mitsubishi came up with another surprise: a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 in automatic transmission! Called the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7.5 GTA, it comes in tiptronic 5-speed automatic transmission. The first ever Evolution series in automatic! Some cosmetic changes were made to differentiate it from the Evolution 7 too.

Another Evolution for the Mitsubishi stable: the all-new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 . It was facelifted from the previous Lancer Evolution 7, and has a new engine that produces 280bhp! It is also the first Evolution to come with 6-speed manual transmission. To shed some weight, the new spoiler was made of carbon fiber, and light-weight 17" Enkei rims were added too.

The Proton cars...

All these 4 cars are produced by a a Malaysian automotive company called Proton. All cars by Proton have engines sourced from Mitsubishi. For all you people who didn't know, Proton and Mitsubishi are somehow linked.

From left to right: Proton Putra, Proton Wira, Proton Waja, Proton Satria GTi. Please note that all the 4 cars in the photo above are modified (bodykits, rims, etc.) by their respective owners, and are no more in stock condition. And all 4 cars have upgraded to Evolution-based engines. If in stock condition, the Proton Putra comes in a 1.8L engine, the Proton Wira in either 1.3L, 1.5L, 1.6L, 1.8L or 2.0L (diesel). The Proton Waja comes in either 1.6L or 1.8L, and the Satria GTi in 1.8L.

The Proton Putra is derived from the Mitsubishi Mirage Asti, the Proton Wira from the Mitsubishi Lancer, and the Proton Satria GTi from the Mitsubishi Colt. Only the Proton Waja is designed in-house by Proton. And another thing is that the Proton Waja and the Proton Satria GTi have ride and handling tuned by Lotus.
